My Story

Pronounced Groh-greyn, the name came from my childhood love of grosgrain ribbon and all things related to home and craft. I was always inspired by my mothers constant love of moving the furniture around, and her mantra of "a change is as good as a holiday". I went on to renovate several houses while my children were small before a chance coffee with a friend who shared my love of homewares, saw us starting the business from my home in 2007. A year later the business moved to premises in Wahroonga and the website was launched.

The shop was very unique in the way that it was not a shopfront, and it was made up of several little rooms, so it was almost like going into someones home, and I have tried to get that feeling across in the website.  I buy from a large amount of suppliers both local and overseas, and have a real soft spot for independent makers,  I just think that mix of vintage, new and handcrafted is a beautiful combination, that makes for a really authentic home.

I closed the shop in early 2020 and now operate solely online with the occasional pop up shop in my old space in Wahroonga.  Join my mailing list to be the first to know when I am "popping up".

The aim of this website is to give new and existing customers a convenient way to shop for the products that they know and love as well as the opportunity to be suprised and inspired by new and exciting pieces and to have them delivered to their door, secure in the knowledge that they will be of the quality they trust and beautifully presented.

I hope you enjoy your Grosgrain online experience,
